Culturally-Informed Counselling for Expats & Digital Nomads

Living abroad can be rewarding yet challenging.

Whether you move for love, work, family or studies, you may find yourself in for a bumpy ride. I offer counselling grounded in cultural awareness and emotional safety, informed by 15 years of experience supporting people through turbulent transitions of many kinds.

How did you end up here?

You might be struggling if you feel:

Relocation depression or burnout after moving

Alone with grief, change, or crisis far from home

Grieving for the loss of community or cultural connection

Cultural identity confusion and difficulty integrating

Unsure of your life direction or next step

Repeating of emotional patterns that keep you stuck

Disconnected, anxious, or chronically unsettled

Caught in relationship conflicts shaped by cultural tension

Struggling to feel grounded or "at home" anywhere

Migration touches every part of your identity.

More than just adapting, it's about allowing yourself to be seen, valued and held in unfamiliar spaces. This is culturally-informed care for your evolving sense of self.

THROUGH OUR WORK TOGETHER YOU CAN:

Cope with grief, loneliness, or crisis far from home

Develop a deeper sense of belonging as an expat

Explore identity shifts and strengthen inner stability

Develop supportive, cross-cultural relationships

Navigate transitions with softness and resilience

Heal wounds tied to displacement and disconnection

Identify and shift patterns that keep you emotionally stuck

My Approach

Many people I work with face life changes, heartbreak, depression, anxiety, stress, or a sense of disconnection. Often, they’re holding questions about who they are and what matters now.

I’m here to help you reconnect with yourself and build tools for self-trust and care in your life and relationships. Whether we meet online or in Berlin, we’ll make space for what’s emerging in you.

Together, we’ll explore internalized beliefs and survival strategies often shaped by early relationships. As awareness grows, new possibilities for change can unfold.

My approach is integrative and relational, blending insights from neuroscience about how we process emotion, form bonds, and carry traumatic experiences in the body.

As a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming counsellor, I honor your identity and healing process.

Being deeply heard, especially in the places we feel most ashamed or afraid, is profoundly healing.

You’re welcome here exactly as you are.

I started working with Andrea when I was new in Berlin and having trouble adjusting in an inter-cultural relationship.

Andrea listened with patience and kindness and nudged me in the right direction. I felt seen and understood and challenged in the best possible way.

With her help I started to thrive and restored my self-esteem. I can't recommend her highly enough!

During the trial session

This first meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other.

  • You're welcome to ask any questions about my background and approach. It’s important that you feel at ease with both the process and with me, as a person and as a professional.

  • You'll be invited to share what brings you to counselling. I’ll also get a general sense of your situation to assess whether I’m the right person to support you.

  • Starting counselling is a significant and personal decision. I encourage you to take the time you need to reflect on whether you'd like to begin this process.
